Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Launches Charity Drawing for 2021 LC 500 Convertible donated by Lexus

Drawing now live to benefit Boys & Girls Club of Monterey County; 3,000 tickets available at $100 each

Check back this Sunday, September 13 for a link to watch the livestream of the Pebble Beach Concours Charity Drawing!

Although the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance won’t be able to celebrate its 70th anniversary this August, the event is still doing all it can to raise funds this year for people in need. The Pebble Beach Concours and Pebble Beach Company have partnered with Lexus to offer a 2021 LC 500 Convertible in a 2020 charity drawing. All receipts from this 2020 charity drawing will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County—a longstanding beneficiary of the Pebble Beach Concours and Pebble Beach Company Foundation’s charitable giving initiatives.

The Pebble Beach Concours invites the public, including friends in the car world and anyone who loves Pebble Beach, to join in supporting this deserving charity by reserving a ticket at www.bgcmc.org/win. A total of 3,000 tickets are available at $100 each. The drawing culminates this September 13 when one lucky winner will gain the keys to the world-class luxury convertible, newly released this summer.

2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible

The Lexus LC 500 Convertible is powered by a 5.0L naturally aspirated V8 engine that produces 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. The throaty V8 is paired with a Direct-Shift 10-speed automatic transmission, with the ability to click through the gears via magnesium paddle shifters mounted just behind the steering wheel. Additional features include Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS), standard 20-inch wheels, and an active sport exhaust, just to name a few.

The convertible soft top itself is a thing of beauty. The top is designed to open in 15 seconds and close in 16 seconds, depending upon weather conditions. What’s more, the top can be opened or closed up to approximately 31 mph. Lexus engineers focused on a four-layer soft top design to accentuate the sleek lines of the convertible without significant intrusions to the trunk and cabin space that can come with a heavier, bulkier hard top. The smooth, elegant roof movement is inspired by the three-step motion of Japanese calligraphy: ink brush to paper, movement to the right, the stopping of the ink brush.

Inside, summers can be endless thanks to an HVAC system that adjusts the temperature whether the top is raised or lowered. The Lexus Climate Concierge with Upper Body Heating automatically manages the air conditioner, seat heaters, neck heaters and steering-wheel heater to ensure the cabin is comfortable. The HVAC system is even optimized to send warm or cold air to the back of the driver’s hands when gripping the steering wheel.

The LC 500’s Lexus Safety System+ encompasses a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Lane Keep Assist, All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Intelligent High Beams. Blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is also added to the vehicle’s impressive safety features. Drivers also enjoy a superior technology experience, thanks to a navigation system with 10.3-inch color LCD multimedia display, which includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa compatibility.

This opportunity to raise funds for people in need comes as the Pebble Beach Concours sees its 70th anniversary sidelined by COVID-19 restrictions. “While we will miss the chance to showcase some of the world’s most iconic automobiles on the 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links this summer, we are grateful to Lexus for its extremely generous donation that will enable the Concours to continue to meet its commitment to local youth through the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County,” said Pebble Beach Concours Chairman Sandra Button.

You need not be present to win the 2020 Pebble Beach Concours charity drawing. Estimated delivery of the prize is December 2020, and delivery is limited to the continental USA and Alaska. (Note: The actual prize may vary from the one pictured in any promotions for this charity drawing. The winner is responsible for all tax, licensing and transfer fees, and there is no cash or prize substitutions.)

Lexus is an ongoing sponsor of the Pebble Beach Concours. It is also the Preferred Vehicle of Pebble Beach Resorts, allowing resort guests to enjoy two-hour complimentary use of Lexus test-drive vehicles and chauffeured transfers in a luxurious Lexus Guest Transportation vehicle to and from resort facilities, Pebble Beach golf courses and the Monterey Peninsula Airport.

The 70th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will now take place on August 15, 2021. For information or tickets to the 2021 Concours, please go to www.pebblebeachconcours.net.
