The timeless 1937 Talbot-Lago T150C Figoni & Falaschi Coupé stars in the 100% Made in Italy collectible tie and silk scarf we designed for the 2023 Pebble Beach Concours, an edition honoring the centenary of the Figoni and Falaschi design house.
The necktie and silk scarf design captures the very essence of the Talbot-Lago T150C, renowned for its sinuous curves and “teardrop” design a perfect synthesis of Art Deco aesthetics and performance-focused aerodynamic study. Figoni and Falaschi’s craftsmanship is enhanced with three unique views of the car’s silhouette, which is outlined against a geometric and refined orange background texture inspired by 1930s decors.
The limited-edition collection pays tribute to this extraordinary automotive heritage, not only capturing the timeless appeal of the car, but also celebrating Italian taste and craftsmanship: a cultural legacy we share with Figoni and Falaschi. Conceived by talented designers who are passionate about automotive icons, the tie and silk scarf are made entirely by hand by Como’s expert seamstresses using high-quality silk.
The story of the Talbot-Lago T150C Coupé is a fascinating chapter in the golden age of the automobile. This French jewel produced between 1934 and 1948 is the iconic creation of Figoni and Falaschi, an emblem of style and innovation that marked a new era in automotive design, in total contrast to the boxy and mighty geometries of the cars of the 1920s.
In 1937, the T150C Coupé was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, and its impact was immediate. The tapered body and flowing lines were paired with a powerful 140-horsepower 4-liter six-cylinder engine made it one of the fastest and most agile cars of its time.
